Barbara Sugarman Grochal, Deputy Director of the Schools
Conflict Resolution Education Programs at the Center for Dispute Resolution at the University of Maryland School of Law, has a  background in conflict resolution work, business, and education.

Ms. Grochal designs training programs for staff and teachers on conflict resolution education and positive discipline.  In her support of the school programs, she conducts teacher and staff training and peer mediation training, networking resources for schools on a state and national level.  She has assisted in the development of a national and international conflict resolution education website.  In 2008, she joined both the School Safety Solutions Actions Committee convened by State Superintendent Grasmick and Congressman
Cummings and the Maryland Anti-Bullying Policies Workgroup.

Having a Masters of Education from Cornell University and a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola College, she has conducted numerous trainings and facilitations in the business arena. In addition, she has a small practice as a personal and professional coach, helping clients achieve their goals for a more fulfilling life.
